Upcoming Trail Projects

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR ALL EVENTS:

All events are open to everyone - not just scouts

To Register simply email jvantassell@osrtrails.org with the following information:

Individuals - send name and email address to contact for last minute changes

Troops - send Troop number and number of scouts and scouters who will attend + contact person for changes if needed

All work in state parks requires volunteers to complete a Volunteer Service Agreement which covers you with Workman's Comp. This will be emailed to you when you register.

All scouts must also bring a completed BSA Medical and Informed Consent Part A and B ONLY available here We do not collect the forms just have the available if required.


Our Committee provides a minimum of 2 registered adults with Youth Protection for each event.

Project involves removing English Ivy from an area in the park to return it ti its natural state.

Meet at the Picnic area parking lot by the rest rooms at 9:00 am.

Bring hand shears/clippers or loppers; gloves; eye protection; snack; water

From Rt 135 (Seaford Oysterbay Exp) take exit 8 (Powell Ave - Bethpage - Bethpage Park). Head east on Powell Ave/Plainview Rd. The entrance to the park picnic area and polo field is the fist road on the north side of Plainview Rd. There is a new sign at the entrance pointing the way. If you get to a traffic circle you have gone too far.

All participants must complete a Volunteer Service Agreement form which covers you with Workman's Comp. This will be sent to you when you register. You only need to do this once a year. If you already completed one you do not have to complete another.
