Annual trail work weekend

Help improve the trails or hike to earn partials in Hiking Merit Badge

This Spring we have a very special weekend devoted to one thing, and one thing only- - the trails at Onteora.

And your help is needed, for as you know, trails need regular maintenance, from painting blazes to pruning back undergrowth.

There are now 20 miles of marked trails at OSR so it will require plenty of help to make sure they are in good shape, not just for summer campers, but for the troops that come up in late spring and the fall to enjoy a good hike.

So if you're up for a weekend of work, and the camaraderie of like-minded souls, then register and come for the weekend.

Bring a day pack, and any of the following: loppers, shears, bow saws, and/or hand clippers.

Oh, and did we mention:

Meals will be provided at the Long House, under the direction of Chef Steve Shull, with all meal expenses covered by the Onteora Alumni Organization.

Troops can register, use the weekend to hike our trails and eat their meals in the dinning hall. No trail work required. Allowing Scouts to earn partials in Hiking Merit Badge.

To Register: (THE LINK TO TRC IS NOT YET UP AND WORKING) To register before email me and I'll put you on the list james.vantassell@osrtrails.org
